Why do i need blood pressure meds if i have a pacemaker?

Different issues. A pacemaker keeps your heart beating in at least a stable minimal pace. (or it can stop) Blood pressure medicine keeps the pressure in your blood vessels from going so high you get kidney/heart and other damage or have a stroke. These are different issues but both are important and require separate treatment.

You suffer from 2 different conditions, one has to do with your heart rhythm and the other is hypertension. The pacemaker deals with first, the medicine with the second.
