What is something other than lice that will attach to and eat away at your hair. lice treatments do not kill whatever this is. i've tried many different remedys and i'm too embarrassed to go to a doctor?

IF YOU HAVE A BIG BUNCH OF HAIR THAN OTHER INSECTS CAN ATTACH TO IT.WASH YOUR HAIR WITH A SHAMPOO THAT IS ANTI FUNGAL AND ANTI SEPTIC. IF NO RESULT THAN CUT YOUR SHORT AND GO TO A HAIR STYLIST FOR TREATMENT,IF NO RESULT THAN SEE A DOCTOR.

A common cause of bald patches with short broken looking hairs is a fungal infection called tinea capitis. It can be treated and cured by oral antifungals. Talk to a Dr about this as the oral medication is by prescription only. Treatment involves several weeks to a month of the oral medication. Do not be embarrassed, this can easily be caught from other people or pets.
