2 days ago i was in work and suddenly started seeing a floater in my left eye accompanied with flashing light. i thought i was having an ocular migraine. its been 3 days. its intermittent. is this an emergency?

Yes. What you described is a symptom of retinal detachment and you need to see a retina specialist for treatment to prevent deterioration of your vision. Go to a hospital emergency department if you do not have access to an ophthalmologist. Wish you good health.

It could be a retinal detachment and could be a vision threatening emergency. I recommend immediate examination by an ophthalmologist.
