I would be most concerned about the cushions within the knee joint called menisci. If these are torn they can cause difficulty with pain and locking of the knee. You could also have a piece of bone within the joint that is interfering with the movement of the joint. You will need imaging of the knee and probably an orthopedic surgeon's consultation.
