Inflatable water slides use garden hoses to provide the fresh water needed to lubricate the slide. There are very few places where garden hose water would contain brain eating amoeba. Since California takes precautions for tap water such as chlorine and other chemicals in their water, you are most likely safe. Amoebic infections are more common in fresh water lakes.
