Not in Canada or USA: The Amoeba infections occurred mostly in India in areas of polluted water. This is NOT the case in 1st world countries where water is treated with chlorination.

There have been: NO case-reports of Primary Amebic Meningoencephalitis caused by Naegleria fowleri in Alberta, Canada "there have been no documented cases of a person contracting the amoeba in Canada" REF:
