Your description suggests a congenital malformation in which the aortic arch is on the right side instead of the left . The left subclavian artery which supplies the left arm arises from the aortic arch on the right side and crosses over to the left side behind the esophagus. This abnormality can partially constrict the esophagus and impair swallowing. You should be evaluated by a cardiologist.
