Incidental finding on ct ab. spotty calcified plaque of the abdominal aorta identified. 61, f, within bmi, no diabets, no high bp, but cholesterol 214 on 20mg statin & was raised to 40. can't see cardiologist for a month. is this fatal?

Calcification in the aorta in not uncommon in a person your age. It indicates underlying atherosclerosis. The lesion may be symptomatic, or it could be part of severe disease that could result in aneurysma that my rupture and cause death. Your doctor can ascertain the severity of lesion and it you have an aneurysm. Wish you good health!
