She is 17 and has been complaining of on and off pain on the side around the rib cage. and at times the pain changes from right to left side. she was treated of uti about two months ago. so what could this be?

The pain she has right now is likely not related to the UTI event 2 months ago. Upper urinary tract infection, namely kidney infection is usually very symptomatic which includes back or flank pain (only one side most of the time), fever, shaking chill, severe fatigue and change in urine color. The current pain could be anything or nothing, observe for now, take Tylenol as needed for one day.
