A member asked:

Hello, i have migraines quite frequently. over the last year, without taking 500 mg of magnesium they can happen any day. my issue is that even while taking magnesium any change in my environment can cause a painful migraine?

The described pattern appears consistent with chronic daily migraine, and this will worsen without appropriate intervention. Magnesium will not be your answer. Find a neurologist who works with headaches. The new CGRP items are amazing, and gepants are emerging therapies. Get proactive and get back on track.

I would have to answer a question with a question. Are you sure you are having migraine headaches? Could it be you are actually having muscle tension headaches? When in pain are the muscles of the side of your head tender? Is your face or are your cheeks tender as well? The brief history you gave suggests the possibility of having muscle tension pain.

If you are having daily headaches would follow up with neurologist to determine the cause of the daily headaches. May consider MRI, EEG and may also check for blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes, anemia, reflux, sinus issues, food intolerances ( that can also cause reflux), allergies.
