When falling asleep i get a tingly feeling all over my body. my heart then begins to race and i wake up panicked. i have been experiencing a lot of anxiety. could that be the cause or something else? on day 5 of lexapro?

Please see your doc to rule out medical conditions. Sometimes when people begin to relax, let down their guard, they startle into high alert. Anxiety can be behind this and if so a clinical psychologist can be helpful. Peace and good health.

The mind communicates with the skin and anxiety can be a cause of your symptoms. Ssri medications like lexapro may interact with other meds to cause symptoms but I'm not sure they would cause your symptoms. Notify your prescribing physician for instructions about continuing lexapro and ongoing anxiety state. Stress management may be helpful as part of your treatment.
