A member asked:

I had a thyroid biopsy done it came back as non diagnostic. this is what the report says as well. not sure how this reads these demonstrate rare neutrophils and lymphocytes, with a large amount of blood, and are essentially devoid of epithelial cells?

Translation= they did not find anything bad going on, just random cells of various types. Blood would be an expected finding in such procedures. Epithelial cells are what is on the outside, and would not be expected when sampling the inside. Discuss this with your doc.

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that,no cancer was seen in the tissue examined by the pathologist. Wish you good health!
