A member asked:

55 yo female, first cholesterol test results: trig 165mg, chol 199mg, hdl 71mg, ldl 82mg, vldl 33 (flagged as high) should i be concerned about these results?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, none of the results are a cause for immediate concern. If you are overweight losing weight, through diet and exercise will help. Wish you good health!
