A member asked:

The phlebotomist had to refind my vein. the open needle touched his rubber glove slightly snagging it. he used the needle anyways. what is my risk and could i get an infection or disease?

There is the possibility however you should not be anxious because most likely the glove is clean and that means bacteria count is low. Your blood has white blood cells and other mechanisms to quickly detect anything foreign and likely to round it up contain and clean it right away unless the contamination is overwhelming. If redness or swelling watch for two days, if getting better danger over.
