Clean up: See previous answer, but in general they tried to smooth out some worn cartilage under your knee cap. More options exist including using a brace, specific exercises to improve strength and tracking, as well as oral/topical/injectable medications. In regards to injections, both cortisone and hyaluronic acid could be of benefit.
