Many of those catching COVID-19 infection or symptomatic disease never know the source. Victims can carry the virus to others but they either don't have any symptoms or mild ones.

Many cases remain unclear of how the transmission took place. In your case, you tested late if you were the source and did not have symptoms at the time. You could have been tested positive 2 weeks prior and eventually cleared by the time you tested.
