Possibly. There are many factors influencing a full return to PIP joint movement or range of motion after an injury. Perhaps the most important factor is after medical clearance, quickly initiating a regular range of motion exercise program to avoid the onset of contractures. The program should start with simple passive stretches then slowly progress to active assist stretches as tolerated

usually but the little finger is typically problematic relative to potential loss of motion. Most minor damage often does not require surgical intervention that can result in post operative complications.
