Tendon injury: The compartment in your finger are very small. Along the lateral aspects run the nerve bundle that supply sensation to the finger tip. Any injury/irritation to the nerve bundle, swelling can result in the symptoms you are experiencing. The ultimate treatment is surgery to fix the tendon and the nerve if it was damaged along with the tendon.
