A member asked:

I am being treated with augmentin for aspiration pneumonia once per day for 14 days. is this correct dosing?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Antibiotic choice and dosing are based on situational factors and testing. Aspiration pneumonia is a label that could be applied to minor ;localized disease with minimal symptoms or major pervasive disease with the patient on a respirator. Without the patients complete history, exam and testing it is not possible to render a clear opinion. For some it would be fine.
