I have been diagnosed with barretts with a hiatus hernia of 5cm n due surgery in next 4 months but am suffering with heavy chest n shortness of breath . should i be going back n asking for surgery earlier ????

Do not delay to get this evaluated. The shortness of breath is a concern for cardiac and/or lung problems, and needs to be evaluated ASAP. Do not assume this is all due to esophageal issues, get yourself safely cleared. A visit to ER would be most appropriate.
