Why does my child have extreme pain out of nowhere and knee pain to the point where she can't walk?

Your child needs to see a doctor ASAP. If the child has sudden, unexplained knee pain, there are many possibilities-perhaps it was injured-strain, sprain, fracture, etc. It there swelling? If so, there could be a cyst. The child needs to be examined so a diagnosis can be made!! Good luck!!

A child who cannot walk due to pain should be seen right away - this could be primary care doctor, orthopedic surgeon or emergency room. This is a question that needs a thorough history and physical. If your child cannot walk, please do not wait.
