Sounds like your : knee is "unstable" and you have not described the "fall" however if your knee twisted you could have a torn ACL ( Ligament) or a torn cartilage in the knee itself (Meniscus). You need to have the knee evaluated as soon as practicable. Hope this is helpful! Dr Z
