An np diagnosed me with sciatica and told me to take aleve twice a day (i had been taking one daily when the pain first started). is it safe to take aleve every day?

Aleve is an NSAID, not safe being taken medium to long term, due to possible side effects, such as gi bleed or fluid retention.

Aleve is a temporary solution at best. If you do have low back pain causing sciatica, physical therapy might be useful. You may benefit from imaging. Discuss with your doctor

Aleve is okay for short term, but you need to address the underlying issue and consulting a doctor would be prudent. If you get stomach upset, you may take acetaminophen for pain, no more than 4 g/day and no alcohol. Wish you good health!
