A member asked:

My loved one is 25 years old,he is diagnosed with high blood pressure, and takes medication for it daily, he does not have any symptoms and never did but he was diagnosed with it 2 years ago. my question is, with medication will he be okay long term?

He needs to take the medication regularly, lose weight if he is overweight, limit intake of salt, exercise regularly and get regular medical check up. Wish you and your loved one good health!

Long term anti-hypertensive therapy is strongly advised. Get a referral from your partner's physician for a cardiologist to receive preferred medications for treatment, and importantly, regular followup care. Your "loved one" is young, and inherent resistance in seeing a physician should be expected, but persist in your concern for him/her to receive appropriate care asap.
