Yesterday i saw dark brownish/reddish colored mucus in my stool. i gave stool c/e test and the report says everything is ok. how can this be possible i saw that thing by myself and i'm not sure whether it was blood or mucus. report maybe wrong?

Stool can be red colored from food such as grapes, beets, cranberries, tomato juice or red/-grape colored drinks. Alternatively, if the test was expired it may not have been working properly. Would repeat the exam especially if you are having continuing issues and would follow up with MD. Mucus is not the standard in stool
