There are changes in nasopharynx which is the area around uvula and it is known as cobblestone pattern and it does cause soreness. Avoid allergies by going out after rain, avoiding to go out early in the morning when pollen count is high. Use Flonase in addition to oral antihistamine. Hope it helps.
