My throat feels dry when breathing through nose/mouth, checked back of throat in mirror and i see a single red blood vessel - thin but very red. no pain. i am having postnasal drip from allergies. could allergies or a virus make this happen?

Yes and possibly other causes, Best to see PCP who can make a Diagnosis and Treat appropriately - as soon as possible.
