I woke up today and my inner thigh muscles were extremely sore esp while walking. should i do exercises to stretch? can being inactive cause this? was completely fine yesterday?

Typically, this is common and due to strain from athletic events. Stretching will help, as will persistence of ambulation. If this worsens or spreads, or if your urine changes color, contact your physician, but highly unlikely that this represents a disease or muscle damage.
