If a person has high blood pressure, would it be consistently high throughout the day..even in the morning? mine was 122 over a normal number in the am and one day even 112 over a normal number when woke up. thoughts?

Sounds normal to me if your device is accurate and you use it correctly. Average of less than 120 systolic is considered normal.
BP varies with every heart beat. in general the lowest systolic during a 24 hr period is higher than the highest diastolic pressure. But you need a 24 hr recording to detect this. There are home devices that take pressure at night. Check them out.
