48 hour holter reports bpm 47 to 133. i had dc cardioversion for af. some ectopic beats - couplets, triplets and bigeminy and trigeminy. i am fit and active. would electrophysiology study and catheter ablation, be better than beta blockers?

Catheter ablation would only be helpful if there was a specific area in your heart creating the ectopic beats. You should see an electrophysiologist to see if this is a possibility for you. If not, beta blockers would be the best choice. Best of luck to you!

You don't mention whether beta blockers are helping you. In addition you apparently have Bradycardia- tachycardia syndrome and high doses of beta blockers may slow your heart rate too much. Some patients require a permanent pacemaker in order to continue high dose beta blockers. Are you on anticoagulant therapy because of your history of A fib? As recommended by Dr. F,see an electrophysiologust
