A member asked:

My wife just got her thyroid results. shw is pregnant 20 weeks. the tsh level is 1,61 mle/l. ft4 levels are 10.6 pmol/l she haven't eaten any hormones before the pregnancy. is there any need for medication with theese results?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, the data you provided does not indicate a need for thyroid medication. Wish you, and your wife good health and a healthy baby!
