Hydrosalpinx means that the ends of the fallopian tubes where normally there are fimbria which wave the ova into the tubes, is misshapen or scarred. This means that there may be an obstruction or that there may be abnormalities in the pathway. Talk to the Dr who diagnosed you as the hysterosalpingogram would have much more detail about your specific situation.

If you are planning to conceive you may need surgery to remove it as it may interfere with your ability to become pregnant and keeping the pregnancy , if you do not want to conceive then being on a Birth control pill would decrease your chances of infection. Antibiotics are indicated when the tubes are infected and cannot reverse the damage which is blockage at the end of the tube.
