It is more probable tat nerve damage due to the infection process that caused irreparable damage resulting in toot loss.

The question I first ask, will a mri show damage to the maxillary v2 nerve. I didnt ask what caused the damage. If there is damage to the nerve I think I know the cause ( facial trauma). Bob?
