Hi my 5 month old teething son has diarrhoea for the past few days. i took him to the doctor and his tummy is still running , because its going out so much its swollen and sore by the anus . what can i use? he cries when cleaning his bum

One of the best remedies for his sore bottom is cleaning with baby oil on a cotton ball. That generally doesn’t sting and helps to sooth the area. Then apply a barrier diaper ointment, such as desitin or Balmex (white unscented diaper cream) so that the stool isn’t touching his skin as much.

Sorry about that little bottom. Change him frequently and use warm water and a mild soap if necessary to get him clean. A hair blow drier can be used on the clean skin which will sooth and speed healing. Not too hot, of course. Then you might use zinc oxide. You might also add a probiotic daily. There are other causes of diarrhea (American version) so if it persists begin to look for other causes
