A member asked:

I have had chylamdia 5 times 10 years ago and cured it with medicine . i might have symptoms now, due to my partner cheating on me. since ive had it 5 times in the past and taken the medicine, will i be resistant to the treatment itf i do have it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

There are a couple of standard antibiotic treatments for chlamydia and the germ is seldom resistant to them. You individually do not develop resistance to an antibiotic but you can become infected by a strain that is. When this concern arises a doc may retest for evidence of the germ weeks after treatment.
