A member asked:

What does protective level of immunity for hep b mean? if i have 10ml is that less protective than 100ml titer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A protective titer is that level of antibody in a test that indicates a person has recovered from an illness or been immunized against it and is not susceptible to infection by that agent. The reports generally are listed in international units ( a scientific term) and a level of 10 IU/liter is usually considered protective. A level of 100 IU/liter is more protective.
