Hello, i went to my doctor today to receive my hep b ab titer results and it was negative, non-reactive. what exactly does this mean? should i worry?

Hep B non-reactive: If u had the Hep B vaccine (3 shots-6 months), sometimes the doc checks if you've 'responded' to the vaccine with an antibody test (antibody=AB). This is only one measure of the immune response though, so u may still be immune. If this is for school though, u may need to repeat the vaccine series since having a titer against Hep B means u can't get it. If you don't have a titer, ur risk is higher.

You are NOT immune: A non-reactive titre means that you are NOT immune to hepatitis B. That means if you came in contact with it you could get the disease. If you've had a vaccine series then it indicates that it didn't work. If you haven't had the vaccine series then I would get it.
