Im 5weeks and 6 days pregnant, still very early. ive read its normal to have brown discharge, but is it also normal to have lower stomach cramps with it. not light cramps, but more medium - is this normal?

Brown discharge with cramping at "5w6d" of pregnancy can indicate inadequate progesterone made by the placenta, as ovarian source of progesterone decreases. Consult your OB physician, who may start progesterone replacement to diminish the chance of miscarriage.
