THE ROOT CANAL HAS POSSIBLY FAILED AND YOU SHOULD CALL THE DENTIST WHO DID IT AND EXPLAIN YOUR CONCERNS AND BE PLACED ON ANTIBIOTICS UNTIL YOU CAN GO BACK TO THE OFFICE FOR A VISIT.A CROWN SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE TO COVER THE TOOTH SO FOOD COULD BE TRAPED UNDER YOUR GUM TO CAUSE THE SWELLING. TRY TO GET VACCINATED BOTH YOU AND YOUR MOTHER.

Most medical/ dental clinics in the US have a very high standard of cleanliness (which improved after the COVID 19 pandemic began). Your dentist may or may be able to a virtual evaluation (using cell phone to get history and examine).

This could be serious and may need additional treatment to save your tooth. Antibiotics would be a temporary solution. You need to see a dentist. Dental offices have been open since June of 2020 and have been safely seeing patients. Dental professionals have also had the opportunity to be vaccinated. Therefore, you should be able to safely see a dentist in your area.
