Palpitations that only last a few seconds and are not accompanied by dizziness are usually not dangerous. They can be spontaneous or triggered by stimulants like caffeine, decongestants, albuterol. Stress/adrenaline can also be a trigger. If you have a heart murmur, then a mitral valve prolapse can sometimes be a cause. Your Dr should be able to detect a heart murmur with a stethoscope.

It is not uncommon to have an occasional extra heartbeat or a skipped heartbeat and sometimes these are sensed as palpitations. If it happens infrequently and it is not associated with other symptoms like chest pain or shortness of breath, then it is likely benign. If it happens more frequently or if you experience these other symptoms, then see your doctor. Good luck to you!

Agree with Drs. F and O. What you described is not a cause for concern. For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. Get HPV and Covid vaccines. Wish you good health!
