I went in for my 8 weeks scan and the fetus was measuring 7.6 weeks with no heart beat. should i do a follow up us before having a d&c as my doc said it was a fetal demise? any hope?

Optional: A heart beat should be definitely seen at 8 weeks so your doctor is probably correct. However, there is nothing wrong with getting another ultrasound, especially if that will give you more confidence and certainty in the diagnosis. There is also no need to rush to do a D&C. Sometimes if you wait a week or two everything will pass spontaneously.
