A member asked:

Symptoms of amyloidosis on nails? have macular amyloidosis and afraid that it might progress to nails since ive noticed browish/yellowish bilateral discolouration (not lines and only towards the corner) and few nail pitting and ridges as well?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Systemic amyloidosis can affect the nails. A biopsy would be positive. I'm unsure if nail involvement occurs in macular amyloidosis as it is not a systemic disease because abnormal serum light chain immunoglobulins are not present. Your dermatologist can answer your question better than I.
