A member asked:

If someone is in a coma, how does the neurologist know that person will be in a negative state if they wake up based on ct scan done 65 hours after rosc? i need to know if there is any hope? cpr was given for 11 minutes?

A comatose state after CPR provided "for 11 minutes" depends on how effective the CPR was in creating blood flow to the brain, and what caused the initial cardiac arrest necessitating CPR. It is not possible to predict the outcome w/o more information.

The CAT scan is unlikely to be accurately predictive. EEG may help. Outcomes often very different than initial expectations so stay positive
