There may be dried blood in the nasal passages, but the darker areas may be related to a possible blood clot. Place a cool compress on the area and gently rinse your nose with nasal saline after discussing with your PCP. Sinus infections may require more than 14 days of antibiotics to resolve. Watch for signs of fever, wet cough and increased swelling of your face.
