A member asked:

I have a transverse carpal muscle over my tcl. durring my cts release the surgeon mentioned the muscle was the most likely cause of my symptoms. is it likely the muscle has healed and is causing my symptoms again? as they are back?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unfortunately, carpal tunnel release surgery is not always successful, and indeed return of symptoms is not at all uncommon. Some of this could be due to post-operative scarring, but other problems may well complicate the situation. Would not suggest further surgery but hand therapy and splints could help.
