My appendix burst 3wks ago the surgeon had to cut from my belly button approx 8 down how long will it take for my muscle to heal ?

6-8 weeks: After your abdomen is closed, the sutures are the primary strength as your body heals. At about 6-8 weeks, the scar tissue holding the muscle is about 90% of its final strength. The final strength is about 75-80% of the original strength, and you probably have a 15-20% chance of it not holding together in the long run and developing a hernia.

TIme to heal: Your surgeons cut went through many layers of tissue to get down to the appendix. Each layer heals at a different rate. While skin heals quickly, the deep tough connective tissue (fascia) takes a lot longer. You should minimize strenuous activity for at least 12 weeks and progress slowly. Remember, even when finally healed, that area will never have more than 80% of its strength return.

Weeks to months: It generally takes 6-8 weeks for the tissue to heal to be able to resume normal activities. Then you can slowly resume your normal daily activities. Saying that, your tissues are only at 80% of their initial strength.
