Chronic idiopathic/autoimmune uveitis can cause permanent blindness. but does acute uveitis/iritis from injury also cause irreversible blindness? can traumatic uveitis recover on its own in majority cases if steroid or nsaid drops are not used?

Long standing uveitis from any cause can evolve into permanent blindness. Treatment as soon as possible is essential in prevention of blindness. Obtain a referral to an ophthalmologist for treatment.
