Blount’s disease is an inherited disorder of the growth plates in the bones around the knee. (inside surface stops growing while outside surface grows normally). In teens, the disorder may affect only one side. Treatment can involve bracing or surgery, and is managed by an orthopedic surgeon. Without treatment, many affected people develop arthrosis and arthritis because of the uneven wear.

By having the bowlegs I’m sorry to say that arthritis is the primary long term affect. But the degree of arthritis depends on the way you use the joints. Abnormal stress due to bowlegs can be decreased by use of braces and by distribution of weight by help of a physical therapist surgery is the last resort. Please continue aerobic exercise as a part of a healthy lifestyle I hope it helps.
