Low back pain is mostly caused by injury to a muscle (strain) or ligament (sprain). Common causes include improper lifting, poor posture, lack of regular exercise, trauma. While topical NSAIDS may help, oral NSAIDS (ibuprofen or Naproxen) may provide more antiinflammatory effect. Alternate Cold therapy (20 minutes) with a rest (30 min), then Hot therapy (20 min). Continue the muscle relaxant.
