When you say "force ourselves to sleep", I am interpreting that as trying to sleep even when not tired. I could see how that would be frustrating as you just lay in bed tossing and turning. Most adolescents should get at least 7-8 hours of quality sleep a night. Some ways to improve sleep include maintaining a distraction free sleep environment (devices) and moderate exercise.
